Washer Insides

The modern clothes washer comes in many styles, with a variety of features, and contains a lot of components. But all washers have many things in common and are not that difficult to understand.
THE SIMPLEST automatic clothes washer and one possessing every conceivable feature perform only four basic functions. Every washer (1) washes clothes and (2) spins clothes damp dry. Interspersed between theme two functions, every washer (3) fills itself with water and (4) drains itself of water.

Over the years, several different washer designs have been known
Although there have been several washer designs, one particular design, dominated. This has been the agitator-type washer. It has n large-bladed washer assembly that rotates on a center shaft in the middle of the clothes washer basket. The action of the washer agitator greatly stirs up the detergent wash water. It is this agitation of the water around the clothes that cleans the clothes. It is not, as many believe, that the washer agitator "beats" the clothes. However, the washer mechanisms it uses are similar to the mechanisms employed by machines of other design considering the washer control devices.

Appliance Paint

Appliance Paint isn’t hard to apply if you’re an experienced appliance repairman.  You know how to fix-um and ship-um.  But the rest of us have to go through each project like it was the first one because they don’t happen that often.  So we are at a little bit of a disadvantage.  We have to not only find the special tools and learn how to use them again but we have to make special decisions like when we want to re-paint the housing using special appliance paint.

Many styles and colors are available for appliances.  You can get spray cans or bottles with the little brush connected to the top.  You can even get Stainless Steel paint to make your appliances look like the real thing.  So with a little time and a few bucks you can re-vitalize the looks of your kitchen or laundry room and bring it into the 21 century.

A couple of cautions:

Don’t spray your refrigerator while you’re baking a cake or frying your eggs tomorrow morning.  You might not make it till noon.
Any spraying should be done outside or in a well ventilated room, and I don’t mean just open the windows.
If it’s below 70 degrees you should wait on the painting according to most paint appliers.
If it’s not too windy outside you will be ok but watch out for dust and leaves and bugs.
Even if you plan to do the project in the garage you  should wet down the floor to keep the dust down.
If you’re just filling in a chip or two or maybe a scratch that’s unsightly, probably you only need to use the brush in a bottle.  If you’re planning to re-finish the entire housing then you’ll need to use a spray bottle.  Make sure you do a good job of prep work before you start spaying.

Wash the outside with a mild degreaser that won’t leave a residue on the surface, then lightly sand all of the surface to be painted with a number 200 or so wet sandpaper just to break the glaze and give the new paint something to grip.  Let it dry good in between each coat.  Don’t get too close to the surface when you’re spraying either.  If you do you will likely end up with runs or uneven surface coverage.  Just take your time and it will work out just right.
